I'm Dreaming of a (Blue and) White Christmas - Dining Room Tour

Guys, I have a Christmas confession to make........ I don't like red and green. Before you start lobbying Santa to put me on the naughty list, just hear me out. It's not that I don't like the color red (I have Scalamandré Masai dreams) , or the color green (refer back to my obsession from the one room challenge), it's just that I don't really love the two together on their own. A big hunk of red color blocked with a big hunk of green always seems so forced. I feel like other colors should be mixed in to help balance out the harsh contrast. What's the solution? Enter my favorite color combo; blue and white. This classic combo somehow works perfectly in winter and can make a holiday table feel classic and unique at the same time.

In keeping with the overall vibe of my home, my dining room is decked out in a mish-mosh of decor this Christmas. I have traditional tartans, mixed with ginger jars.  And deco plates mixed with chinoiserie ones. Lots of boxwoods are a must for me, including mini boxwood wreaths for the chairs. Overall the room has all of my favorites, and still finds a way to make red and green work together paired with lots and lots of blue and white.

Hope you enjoy the full tour below!

Sometimes it's best to stick with what you love instead of trying to force a "theme" that doesn't fit with your overall style.

I may have had to have some wine for the sake of this blogpost. The sacrifices I make for my art!  On a serious note, how adorable are these cocktail napkins?!?

I love mixing china, and this deco pattern with a classic willow print is right up my ally!
