It's week 7 of the One Room Challenge which means it's time for the big reveal! If you're just catching up, I was tasked with transforming my 7 year old niece's bedroom from a bland space with sad and dated wallpaper, into a colorful and fun retreat for her. My niece's biggest request was that it have a "rainbow theme." My biggest goal was to interpret the rainbow palette in a global and eclectic way so that the space can grow with her for years to come.
Since I know you're all here for the pictures, lets get straight to business. As a reminder, this is where the room started. Full disclosure, the below photo is from the MLS listing of their house, not 7 weeks ago, but nothing had been changed to the bones of the room before we started. We had an uphill battle with this dated wallpaper, and a room that overall felt dark and uninviting.
7 weeks later the room has undergone a total overhaul. New paint, new wallpaper, new furniture and all new linens and accessories. The room feels so much lighter and brighter, and most importantly, my niece LOVES her new space. Since that was my biggest goal all along, I'll mark this room as a success. See below for the full reveal and drop me a note with your thoughts below!
I want to take a moment to thank the sponsors who so generously provided product for this transformation. Annie Selke, who provided the most amazing Dash & Albert Rug, Framebridge for the gorgeous custom frame and O'verlays for the beautiful fretwork on the dresser.
A huge thank you goes to Linda from Calling it home for organizing this challenge. This is my 3rd time participating, and it is always a total blast. The community is amazing, so please make sure to check out all of the other awesome guest participant's rooms here.
I also want to thank my sister and brother in law for blindly trusting me. They are dream clients, but more importantly they are amazing parents and they really empowered my niece to take the lead and describe what she wanted for the room.
So that's a wrap on this Fall ORC! Despite being a little crazy at times with a newborn in tow, I had an absolute blast working on this space. I hope you've enjoyed following along as well!
