Bloggers Heart Habitat- Spring 2019

Thank you to Raymour and Flanigan for donating all of the product for this worthy cause!

A few years ago my friend, Charlotte ( At Charlotte’s House), invited me to join a group she had founded called “Bloggers Heart Habitat”. She had the brilliant idea to bring a group of bloggers, designers, and creatives together to give back to the community by using the skills we have. We partner with Habitat for Humanity in Connecticut, and design furnish and install one of their new homes before the family moves in.

This spring we were able to tackle another project and work with the most deserving family. The Dad is a Marine Corp Veteran, who served in Afghanistan. The Mom is a student who has been working so hard to build a great life for her family. They have a beautiful little girl, and a new baby on the way! They were so excited for their new house, but we really needed to make it a home.

In stepped our amazing sponsor, Raymour and Flannigan, who donated all of the furniture for this project!

I had the pleasure of partnering with Charlotte ( At Charlottes House) and Stephanie ( The Seasoned Home) to design a room for their sweet little girl. We started with a shell of a space, and because we were working with habitat, we were required to keep all paint, flooring, and permanent fixtures as is.

With a little creativity, and a lot of elbow grease, we were able to create a super fun, and extremely functional room for this sweet girl to grow up in. It’s a colorful retreat with room to sleep, play and create.

In addition to finishing the little girls room, we were able to get a kick-start on the nursery for their newest arrival later this fall. This chair swivals and reclines and is the perfect spot to feed or read to a baby.

The project was a total team effort, and a we all had an absolute blast.
